TWO local businessmen were arrested and taken into police custody this morning (Wednesday, March 7).

Andy Sparsis, owner of Food restaurant, in New Street, and Darren Crabb of St James Wealth Management, Liverpool Terrace, took part in the fake arrests to raise money for Love Your Hospitals, the charity which supports Worthing Hospital.

Julian Church and Lee Noakes from Worthing Dynamos Football Club were also arrested.

The four detainees had to use their phones to raise money for ‘bail’ before they were released.

So far, more than £3,000 has been raised for the charity.
