A SOMPTING care-home stalwart retired last week after putting in almost 30 years of loyal service.

Rose Wrighton was a registered nurse for 25 years before transferring to the reception desk at Rectory House in Sompting.

She is looking forward to spending more time with her husband John and their family in her retirement.

Rectory House manager Gary Briggs, said: “Rose has been a firm fixture here at Rectory House and she will be sorely missed by everyone.

“Her knowledge, experience and passion have made her an invaluable member of the team and a much-loved member of the community.

“We all wish her a very long, happy and healthy retirement.”

Rose said she missed working at the home and still visits to lend a hand as a volunteer.

“I enjoyed the friendship and the happy times we had there,” she said.
