A CHEQUE for £1,000 was recently presented to the Queen Alexandra Hospital Home, in Boundary Road, Worthing, by Broadwater Carnival Society (BCS).

The Home was chosen as one of the charities to benefit from this year’s Broadwater Carnival. Army veteran Harry Molineaux, 103, accepted the cheque.

BCS treasurer Sue Broxham said: “We are delighted to support the Queen Alexandra Hospital Home as one of our charities for this year.

“It was a real privilege to meet Harry, and hear some of his stories about serving in the army and about his lifelong support for Arsenal - after their win on Saturday, I think our visit was just the icing on the cake for him.”

Next year’s carnival will take place on Saturday, July 19 with a theme of The Magic of the Movies. First Responders; Support Our Soldiers; Baby Buddies; and Breast Care Cancer Support are the charities that will be supported at next year’s event.
