Cash box stolen in raid at Worthing Sainsbury’s
A SECURITY van driver was left with “severe” bruising after robbers stole a cash box from a Worthing supermarket.
The two men stole the box at noon today (March 8) from a security guard at Sainsbury’s in Lyon’s Farm before driving away in a blue Ford Mondeo, which was followed by a black Subaru Impreza.
The Ford Mondeo was later abandoned and set on fire, and the men entered the Subaru Impreza and drove away.
The suspects are described as white, of stocky build, and between 5ft 10in and 6ft.
One was wearing a black baseball cap and black shell-suit type jacket, the other was wearing a black woolly hat.
