A SCHEME in which community groups can apply for a share of £70,000 is set to launch next week, with applications being accepted from Monday, December 2.
Under Adur Council’s Pot of Gold scheme, community groups, charities, voluntary organisations or residents groups and associations can apply for funding to carry out community projects.
All projects must leave a lasting legacy in the Adur district and fit into one of these themes: wellbeing, appearance of the district, improvements to community facilities.
The closing date for applications is the February 7, 2014.
Entrants must complete an application form which can be found online at www.adur-worthing.gov.uk/pot-of-gold
Among last year’s successful groups were North Lancing School PTA, Wickers Gymnastics and Lancing Methodist Church.
Bids will go before a cross-party panel of local councillors which will meet in early February, 2014.
At an event on April 3, 2014, bidders will present their projects ideas to a ‘live’ voting audience and a panel of judges.
