Link to Hope opened its sixth branch in North Road, Lancing, just over a month ago, and has enjoyed a successful first month in business, thanks in no small part to some hardworking French students.

The charity has had a good relationship with Le Lycee Aristide Briand Business School in Saint Nazaire for a number of years and some of the students chose to come to England and help out.

Retail manager Trish Beldam said “Lancing is such a great location for our new shop and we have great support amongst the local community.

“However there was so much to do with opening the new shop that when we heard that Betty, Audrey, Claudia and Audrey wanted to come over and help us, we were delighted.

“The girls have been practicing their English on customers, steaming, sorting and hanging and were there at the opening to greet people and help with the first few days of trading.

“They have been so good that the charity’s other shops in Goring, Broadwater, Rustington, Littlehampton and Worthing have asked for them to come and help in their shops as well.”

The team are leaving for France this week after nearly seven weeks with the charity.

The shop welcomes new volunteers and donations.
