Coach driver who crashed into Worthing cars to appear in court

THE driver of a coach that collided with eight parked cars in Worthing in June has been summoned to appear before Worthing magistrates.

Paul Shields, 47, of Pratt Close, Mansfield in Nottinghamshire, was taken to Worthing Hospital with minor injuries after the crash at 9.15pm on Saturday, June 18.

The white MAN coach he was driving ploughed into a Nissan Micra, VW Eos, Vauxhall Astra, Nissan Almera, Ford Focus, Vauxhall Corsa, a Mercedes and a Saab in Downview Road.

Nobody was in the vehicles at the time and he was the only occupant of the coach.

He has been summoned to appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on January 20 to face charges of drink driving, driving without due care and attention and tachograph offences.
