CLOSE to 100 people attended the funeral of a Second World War veteran.

Fred Misselbrook, of Church Walk, Tarring, died aged 89 in December. He was given a military send-off and was laid to rest in the Gifford House section of Durrington Cemetery on Thursday.

The former Navy man’s funeral was organised by the Worthing Royal Naval Association (RNA).

Bob Scott, chairman of the RNA, said: “I would like to thank all those persons that did go to his service for making it a nice send off for a good old sailor.”
