THE Worthing Regeneration Plan has, or should I say had, the Connaught Theatre as the hub of Worthing’s cultural centre.
It would appear that the Connaught is not only to be closed but razed to the ground, thus going from core to corpse.
The Connaught has had periods of being “dark” before but has reopened when conditions improved.
To remove the option of reopening the theatre at a later date is cultural barbarism.
With apologies to Oscar Wilde, it would appear that Worthing Council knows the price of everything but the value of nothing.
