TWO councillors have resigned from Worthing’s Conservative group.
Salvington councillor Jacqui Marsh and Offington councillor Graham Fabes, who are daughter and father, resigned on Monday, January 9.
The pair will now serve as independent councillors.
Mrs Marsh said the decision was made “purely for personal reasons”.
She said she intended to stay in her position as chair of the licensing committee, but did not know whether this would happen.
She said: “I would like to praise the fantastic work Paul Yallop has done as leader.”
Council leader Paul Yallop said: “I have thanked both Graham and Jacqui for the service they have provided to Worthing residents whilst working within my administration. I shall miss their input. Whilst these things are always difficult to deal with I am determined to maintain our focus on steering Worthing through the very tough financial climate which we all have to endure.”
