A COUPLE’S dream winter wedding was made extra n-ice after they were given the chance to have a play on Worthing’s ice rink.
Angie Tuffill, 29, and Matthew Mackrell, 34, tied the knot on Thursday, December 15, during a wedding service at Worthing’s Salvation Army.
But before they went to Highdown Towers for their Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-themed wedding reception, the couple deviated via Steyne Gardens.
Angie, of St Botolph’s Road, said: “The photographer managed to get us on the ice rink on our own. It was just so magical to be on there in your wedding dress. How often do you get a picture like that?”
Angie admitted she had only ever been ice skating once before, two years ago, while Matthew had not done it since he was a teenager.
“I just said ‘hold on to me no matter what we do, otherwise I will fall’,” Angie said.
The couple’s two favourite things are Christmas and the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and this was reflected in their wedding, which took 18 months to plan.
The reception included a ‘chocolate factory’, Christmas baubles decorated by the couple and a cut-out Umpa Lumpa for guests to have their photograph with.
