Police have appealed for help in locating the van of Worthing man David Bond.

Fifty-year-old Mr Bond was found dead in his home in Osmonde Close on Tuesday, August 9.

His red Ford Focus-derived van, registration HT02 HMA, had been taken from outside his house, according to police.

Alan Knight, 51, who has been charged with his murder, has told police that he took it and abandoned it in the Mitcham area of south-west London, police have said.

The van has not been located despite searches and detectives are now appealing to anyone in the wider area of south London and north-east Surrey to let them know if they have seen it.

Alan Knight appeared at Lewes Crown Court on Wednesday, August 17 and was remanded in custody to appear for a pre-trial preparation hearing on November 4.

Anyone who has seen the van or knows of its whereabouts is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting Sussex reference Operation Waterhouse.
