Boy, nine, assaulted in Durrington

A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy was allegedly assaulted in Durrington.

It happened at about 2.30pm on Sunday (November 6), outside Tesco, in New Road, Durrington.

Detective Constable Mel Hardy said; “We would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened, and are particularly keen to trace a passer-by who spoke to the man we later arrested, nearby a short while after the alleged assault, over what appears to have been a dispute between a father and son.

“The passer-by, who is described as a black man, drove off in a dark coloured BMW.

“If you can help please contact us on 101 quoting serial number 1063 of 06/11.”

The boy did not suffer any visible injuries, but a 45-year-old Goring man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of common assault and was released on police bail until November 21.
