POLICE have cordoned off a stretch of beach after a body was found this morning (Thursday, January 12).
The body was found by a member of the public at 8.50am by a groyne on the beach at Marine Parade, between the pier and the lido.
The deceased is believed to be local man in his 60s.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “The circumstances are currently unexplained and officers are at the scene. No further information is available at the moment.”
An eye-witness said the area between the west side of the beach and the torch near the Lido had been shut, with six police cars, one paramedic car and one ambulance at the scene.
