Burglary at Worthing home as occupants sleep upstairs

A BURGLAR struck at a Worthing home while the occupants were asleep upstairs.

It happened overnight on June 11, in Upper High Street, Worthing, when food and alcohol, along with a Toshiba Netbook, were stolen.

From outside the house, a distinctive bright royal blue ladies’ bicycle, with black metal baskets on the front and back secured by white cabel ties, was also taken.

A police spokesperson said: “Any burglary is distressing but it’s particularly upsetting for victims who find their home has been broken into and searched whilst they have been sleeping upstairs.

“We would like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area overnight on June 11, and we would also ask members of the public to look out for the distinctive bike, which may be discarded locally.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting serial 0359 of June 12.
