Bus driver left shaken after death threat in Durrington

A BUS driver managed to drive off after a man with a knife threatened to kill him in Durrington on Friday (June 8).

At about 9.25am a man demanded to be let on a Stagecoach bus as it pulled away outside Tesco. He blocked the road, showed the driver a knife, and threatened to kill him.

Police are looking for a 6ft 2in white man with a tan, aged 40 to 50, with short, curly black hair, and a gold hoop earring in his left ear.

Police said he was wearing a long beige raincoat, faded blue jeans and spoke with a local accent. He also appeared to have scratches on his face.

PC Ian Whitehouse said: “This was an unprovoked incident that has left the victim very shaken. If you witnessed this incident, or recognise the description of suspect, call Sussex Police quoting serial 0432 of 08/06.”
