Christmas day murder suspect appears at court

A MAN accused of murdering his brother on Christmas day has appeared in court today (Thursday, December 29).

Vaidas Juras, 33, appeared at Worthing Magistrates’ Court charged with the murder of Bronius Juras, 38, of Bayford Road, Littlehampton.

Juras, of Beach Road, entered no plea during the hearing, and the case was adjourned to Southwark Crown Court for tomorrow (Friday, December 30).

Police were originally called to an address in Beach Road, at about 9pm, on Christmas Day, following reports of a stabbing.

A subsequent post-mortem examination revealed that Mr Juras died of a single stab wound to the heart.

Initially 12 people were arrested in connection with the murder.

Sussex Police said three men have been bailed for four weeks while inquiries continue, and eight people have been released without charge.

Police are still appealing for anyone with any information about the incident to come forward and call 101, quoting Operation Moorfoot.
