Death of man found in Ivydore Avenue not being treated as suspicious

A WOMAN who was arrested at the scene where a body was found has been stood down from police bail and the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Lee Matthews, 45, of Orkney Court, Worthing, was found dead at a house in Ivydore Avenue, Worthing, on July 9.

His death was treated as unexplained, and a post mortem on July 10 was inconclusive. Further tests revealed no drugs were involved in his death.

A 47-year-old woman was arrested at the scene for the unlawful supply of a controlled substance, and has now been stood down from police bail.

An inquest date has yet to be fixed.

The death was originally referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission, as there had been police contact with the two people the night before.

The IPCC considered the referral and decided the matter should be subject of a local investigation.
