A VEHICLE involved in a fatal hit and run yesterday (Saturday, October 22) has been found in Worthing today.
Police officers issued an appeal for details of any damaged Ford Transits following the hit and run in Hassocks yesterday.
Officers found the vehicle in Worthing today but they are still trying to trace the driver.
Inspector Steve Grace, of Sussex Police’s road policing unit, said: “We would appeal for the driver to contact police immediately.”
Police were called to London Road, Hassocks, north of the junction with Shepherds Walk, at 4.40am, following a report of a man lying injured in the road.
When they arrived they found the local man in his early twenties had died.
