Five teenagers arrested after Worthing street robbery

FIVE teenagers were arrested following a street robbery in Worthing on Sunday evening (January 30) which left the victim needing hospital treatment.

Police were called to Rowlands Road after a man had been assaulted and robbed by a group of people.

Following information given at the scene, officers were able to trace the offenders to a nearby flat where five people were arrested. They have been bailed pending further enquiries until April 5 and 6.

The victim suffered a split lip following the attack at around 8.10pm and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Detective Sergeant Simon Dunn, of Worthing and Adur CID, said: “Thanks to the assistance of local residents we were able to quickly trace the five suspects and they were promptly arrested.”

The four men and one woman, who are all local and in their teens, were arrested on suspicion of robbery.
