Grieving mum can finally hold murdered baby’s funeral

A GRIEVING mum will finally be able to lay her baby to rest almost a year after the 11-month-old was killed.

Georgina Hummel was told baby Crystal Hall-Hummel’s body could finally be released by the coroner last week, and her funeral will now take place on Thursday, March 29.

The 18-year-old, of High Street, Worthing, told the Herald last month of her frustration at not being able to bury her daughter. Her former boyfriend Jerome Edwards, 27, of Bridgefield Close, Midhurst, is charged with Crystal’s murder in May last year, and his lawyers wanted to do further tests on Crystal’s body.

Georgina said this week: “I was so relieved when I heard the news. I’m nervous about the funeral, as I’ve been waiting for it for such a long time, but I’ll have my family and friends there to support me.”
