POLICE have released a picture of a man they want to speak to after he threatened to burn down a schoolgirl’s house.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers have released the CCTV image after it was reported the man threatened to burn down a 15-year-old Littlehampton girl’s house as well as threatening to hurt her and her sister.

The verbal attack happened on a train between Angmering and West Worthing around 8.10am on Thursday, October 6, with the man seen leaving the train at West Worthing.

PC Mark Brookes, the investigating officer, said: “We are looking into the full circumstances surrounding this incident and appeal for who witnessed the incident to come forward.

“The man’s behaviour, including the threats he was reported to have made towards this girl, was completely unacceptable.

“We urge him to come forward and help us with our enquiries, or for anyone who thinks they recognise him to get in touch.”
