A 50-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed after he attacked a man with a craft knife in Worthing.

Paul Kepner, of Crabtree Lane, Lancing, was found guilty of wounding with intent at a trial at Chichester Crown Court in July 2011 and sentenced on September 9 to eight years’ imprisonment.

The judge, recorder Bromley Martin QC, told Kepner he was a “dangerous man” following the assault on a 36-year-old man in his home at Steyne Gardens with a craft knife on July 14, 2009.

The victim received facial injuries after receiving a cut to his head as a result of the attack.

Detective Constable Sara Liau of West Sussex CID said: “The victim waited two years for the case to come to trial and showed courage in giving evidence against Paul Kepner. This sentence reflects the seriousness of the attack.”
