Man arrested after stabbing in Robertsbridge

A man has been arrested on suspicon of wounding with intent after reports of an assault in Robertsbridge.

Police were called to the incident, which happened in a car park off High Street in Robertsbridge, at 11.29pm on Friday (July 9).

Officers attended the scene a few minutes later and were told that there had been a fight, but those involved had left, police said.

Enquiries led to a local address where a 30-year-old man from Wiltshire was discovered being treated for minor injuries by a first responder paramedic, according to police.

He was taken to hospital, but refused further medical treatment and self-discharged, a police spokesman added.

On Saturday (July 10), a spokesman for Sussex Police said: “At 1am, a 28-year-old man from Robertsbridge, who is known to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. He remained in custody at 12 noon on Saturday (July 10).”
