Robbery at Worthing shop

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at a shop in Worthing.

At around 10.25pm on Saturday, August 13, a man entered Clifton Food and Wine Store in Clifton Road and threatened a male member of staff with a knife.

The man stole tobacco and left the store in a southerly direction along Clifton Road.

He is described as white, aged between 18 and 25 years old, of medium build and with short mousey hair.

He was wearing dark trousers, a dark jumper or jacket and white trainers.

Detective Constable Kate Lewis of West Sussex CID said: “We are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or know who this man may be.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed a man acting suspiciously in the area before the incident or anyone who saw a man matching the description leaving the area.”
