POLICE commanders from across the area will be taking part in a day of live webchats as part of Sussex Police’s commitment to become more open and transparent.

On Tuesday, April 17, 13 of the force’s District Commanders, or equivalents, will take part in live event.

Asst Superintendent Ian Pollard for Worthing and Adur, Chief Inspector Jane Derrick for Arun and Chief Inspector Rachel Bacon for Chichester will answer questions submitted by the public.

Questions can be submitted via the Sussex Police website or via Twitter @sussex_police using the hashtag #policinglive

Lewes District Commander Chief Inspector Jason Tingley said: “This is a great opportunity for people to contact us to discuss what is important to them. They can ask us what plans we have for combating and reducing crime. Perhaps they have ideas which they think will make a difference in their communities.”

Each district commander has recorded a Vlog (video blog) which will go live tomorrow (Friday, April 13) and people are encouraged to submit questions before, during and after the live event.
