THE 17-year-old arrested on suspicion of the manslaughter of a 49-year-old Worthing man has been released on police bail.
The teenager was arrested in the early hours of yesterday (Thursday, December 30) on suspicion of the manslaughter of Frank Rhoder at his home in Valencia Road, Worthing.
Today (Friday, December 31), the teenager was released on police bail until Tuesday, February 15, while enquiries continue.
Frank Rhoder was found collapsed with a head injury when police were called to his home shortly before midnight on Wednesday (December 29).
Mr Rhoder died while receiving treatment at the scene from paramedics.
A post mortem has taken place at Worthing Hospital but police are waiting for the results of more detailed medical tests.
Detective Inspector Phil Mays of Sussex Police Major Crime Branch said; “The investigation into Frank’s death will continue while we seek expert medical opinion. This incident was confined to the address with a tragic outcome for all parties involved. It is entirely appropriate at this point in the investigation that the 17-year old we have been talking to is released on bail. The investigation is likely to take several weeks to conclude”.
The teenager, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was arrested at another address in Worthing at 2am yesterday (Thursday, December 30).
