Teenagers attack man in Worthing town centre

A MAN was “ferociously” kicked and punched after he was knocked to the ground in Worthing.

Police believe the 47-year-old was the victim of an unprovoked attack.

Three teenagers were seen to knock him to the ground on the corner of Tarring Road and Harrow Road shortly after 7pm on Saturday, December 19.

As well as kicking and punching him, they hit him with an object.

The attackers are described as white and in their late teens.

One wore a grey hooded top and another a black leather jacket.

Detective Constable Paul Tonks said: “This was an apparently random and ferocious attack carried out without care for time of day or who saw it happen.”

Witnesses are urged to contact Worthing CID on 0845 6070999 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
