TWO local men were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and a teenager on suspicion of affray following an assault on a 18-year-old man in Lancing on Friday, October 11.
Police and emergency services attended North Road at around 10.30pm and found the man lying on the ground unconscious.
He was taken by ambulance to Worthing hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Detective Inspector Alan Pack, from West Sussex CID, said: “The investigation is still at an early stage and it is imperative that we keep an open mind as to how the victim was injured.
“Detectives have been viewing CCTV and making house to house inquiries.
“We would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident to please come forward.”
A 48 year-old-man and a 46-year-old man, both from Lancing and arrested for GBH and affray, have been bailed until January 8, 2012.
A 14-year-old boy arrested for affray has been bailed until January 7, 2012.
