UPDATE: Men arrested and some of Worthing’s Olympic screen equipment recovered

POLICE have recovered some of the stolen equipment used to power the Olympics big screen outside the Guildbourne Centre, in Worthing.

Two laptops were recovered from a bush in Park Road, Worthing, after an anonymous call to police at noon on Friday (August 10).

However, a Sony Anycast vision mixer, worth more than £8,000, which had also been placed in the bush is now missing.

The computer and electronic equipment was stolen in the early hours of Friday (August 10) .

Three men were initially arrested for theft.

An 18-year-old from Worthing has been bailed until September 1.

A 21-year-old from Worthing has been bailed until September 8 and no further action was taken against the third man, aged 21.

PC Dave Quayle said:”We received an anonymous tip off as to the whereabouts of the hidden stash.

“However the vision mixer was not recovered and remains outstanding.

“We would appeal to anyone who has knowledge as to where it is to contact police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
