THE town centre manager is hopeful Worthing’s giant Olympic screen will be up and running again tomorrow morning (Saturday, August 11).
Sharon Clark had said the screen may have to remain switched off for the last three days of the London 2012 games, after thieves stole laptops and a vision mixer that kept it running this morning (Friday, August 10).
But Goring firm Viewpress, which provided the screen, has worked to secure the necessary parts to get it working again.
Sharon said: “They have worked tirelessly to try to find a solution, and all being well, the screen will be running again tomorrow.
“It won’t be as good quality as before, and it won’t have the advertising, but it’s great we can show the last two days of the games.
“I was overwhelmed by the response on email and Facebook, which I think shows how important and successful the Olympic screen has been.”
