DETECTIVES are investigating after a 45-year-old local woman was found with severe head injuries in Worthing.
The woman was found at the foot of the Teville Gate car park stairwell at around midnight on Wednesday, November 30.
The woman was found by a passer-by and was initially taken to Worthing Hospital but has since been transferred to Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre, where she remains in a stable but serious condition.
Detective sergeant Chris Leech from West Sussex CID said: “We are trying to piece together the woman’s movements prior to her being found at the foot of the stairs.
“Her injuries are unexplained and police would like to appeal for information from anyone who may have seen her on the evening of Wednesday, November 30, in the NCP car park at Teville Gate.
“It was a wet and windy night and not many people would have been around so we are hopeful if anyone was in the car park they would have noticed the injured woman.”
Anyone with information should contact Sussex Police on 101, quoting serial 209 of 1/12.
Sussex Police officers were informed by Worthing Hospital about the injured woman at 7.50am yesterday (Thursday, December 1).
