Worthing man assaulted after trying to calm disturbance

A MAN who tried to calm a disturbance was punched and kicked.

It happened in Brighton Road, Worthing, on Saturday (June 30) night, when the man, who is in his 40s, tried to calm the situation.

But, according to police, he was then ttacked by a number of unknown men and subjected to an onslaught of kicks and punches by his attackers.

The victim then had to go to hospital for treatment.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault to call them on 101, quoting serial 1782 of 30/06. Alternatively, people call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
