Worthing man found dead in Ivydore Avenue is named by police.

A WORTHING man who was found dead at a house in Durrington on Monday (July 9) has now been named by police.

Police are investigating the death of 45-year-old Lee Matthews, of Orkney Court, Worthing, who was found at a house in Ivydore Avenue, in Worthing, at about 10.30am.

A post-mortem took place on Tuesday (10 July), but the results were inconclusive, and police are awaiting toxicology tests.

A 47-year-old woman was arrested at the scene for the unlawful supply of a controlled substance, and has been given police bail until August 9.

As part of the investigation, a quantity of prescribed medication was taken from the address.

The death is being treated as unexplained.

As there had been police contact with the two people the night before, the case was referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC). The IPCC has considered the referral, and it has decided that the matter should be subject of a local investigation.
