Worthing shop worker robbed at knife-point

A WORTHING shop assistant was robbed at knife-point at the Mobile Phone shop in Bath Place on Sunday (August 7).

At about 11.15am the suspect threatened the male shop worker behind the counter with a knife, before he handed over four phones worth about £1,500.

The suspect left the scene on a black mountain bike that had been left propped up against the shop window outside.

Detective Constable Laura Sinden said: “Officers have been reviewing CCTV and gathering forensic evidence at the scene as part of the ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact police immediately.”

The suspect is described as black, 5ft 7in tall, slim build, with very short afro-style hair and dark-coloured eyes. He was wearing a zip-up black jacket, with black trousers or tracksuit bottoms.
