Worthing shops defrauded

Have your say

SHOPS in Worthing have been defrauded by women working together in pairs.

A number of women, described as Romanian or Arabic in appearance, have been entering stores in Worthing, where they ask for change.

The women then change their minds on the denomination they would like to receive and, as a result, are conning staff and leaving with more money than they gave in the first place.

On each occasion only two women have entered the stores, of which two were hair salons.

One of the most distinctive women is aged between 50 to 60, 5ft 1in to 5ft 2in, with gold teeth and a scar or lump on one of her cheekbones.

Another distinctive woman is the same height and aged between 25 and 30.

Both were wearing lots of earrings and arm bangles.

Anyone with information that could lead to identifying these women should contact PC Dowglass on 0845 6070999, quoting crime reference number WW2/002295/11.
