Delays after lorry and car collide on A24 at Findon

A LORRY and car collided into the central reservation of the A24 at Findon this morning.

Delays were caused after the incident, shortly after 7am, with one lane in both directions closed.

A police spokesman said: “The lorry had crashed through a barrier onto the central reservation, obstructing traffic in both directions and leading to long delays, particularly northbound.

“The A280 Long Furlong road, which joins the A24 at Findon roundabout was also affected by traffic congestion.

“Neither driver was seriously hurt but emergency services were at the scene for more than two hours while the vehicles involved were recovered and normal traffic flow restored.”
