Did you witness an assault in Lancing park?

Police are appealing for information following an incident in Monks Recreation Ground in which a nine-year-old boy was allegedly assaulted by another parent.

The incident is said to have happened near to the slide at the park, in Crabtree Lane, on Saturday, October 6.

A police spokesperson said: “We are investigating the circumstances that led up to the incident and would appeal to anyone who was in the park at around 4pm and witnessed the altercation and alleged assault between the boy and man to please get in touch.

“The man is described as white, 5ft 8in tall, in his50s, of medium build with receding grey hair and was wearing a grey jumper and dark trousers. He was seen leaving the park walking with a small child and carrying a football and scooter. If this is you, or you know who it is, then please call 101 quoting serial 1139 of 6/10.”
