AS PART of the ongoing bicentenary celebrations at Davison High school, two more community events are planned.
The next major event is on Saturday, October 13, when a choir workshop and masterclass will be held from 10am to 3pm for any singers who would like to take part.
The workshop will be led by Emily Barden, curriculum leader for choirs and voice with West Sussex Music Service. Ray Oxenbridge, chairman of governors, said: “Emily is experienced in training choirs and was choir managing director on the Russell Watson Tour of 2009.
“Emily will also conduct the workshop choir at a bicentenary celebration concert that evening at St George’s Church.”
The concert, at the church in St George’s Road, will begin at 7.30pm and will feature the workshop choir, Worthing Choral Society, Davison School Choir, Worthing Salvation Army Band, Worthing Salvation Army Worship Group and New Found Natives, the Worthing Jubilee Church Youth Band.
Proceeds from the concert will be in aid of Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice, Angmering, which is the main charity for the school’s bicentenary year. Tickets are £4 for adults and £1 for children and are available from Mrs Bunyard, community manager, by calling 01903 233835.
