GIANT speckled eggs and a cluster of brightly-coloured feathers were among the magical things Goring schoolchildren encountered when they learned about dragons.

Students at English Martyrs Primary School, in Derwent Drive, also discovered a large nest and unfamiliar footprints when they learned about the mythical creatures last week.

The dragon was also the inspiration for different types of creative writing, including newspaper articles, radio broadcasts, dragon training manuals and dragon research.

Head teacher Sue Harrison said: “The whole school has been a hive of activity and it has been one of the most magical weeks at school this academic year.”
