GCSE RESULTS: Davison CE High School

FOR the third year running, GCSE results at Davison High School have improved.

The school, in Selborne Road, saw 84 per cent of students gain five or more GCSEs at A-C grades – a seven per cent increase on last year’s set of results.

Within that figure, 69 per cent gained five or more A-C grades including English and maths – a figure which is up two per cent on 2010.

Head teacher Della West said: “These wonderful results are a fitting end to a very successful year for the school and underline our outstanding Ofsted report obtained in November 2010.

“Every girl has worked hard to achieve her very best grades and we are all very proud of every one of them. These achievements are the result of excellent learning partnerships between staff and students and good support from parents.

“The excited, noisy celebrations around the school today are very fitting and thoroughly deserved. Even the rain cannot dampen the sense of achievement.”
