HELPING the homeless and a giant art project have kept children at Field Place First School busy.
Pupils at the school, in Nelson Road, Worthing, worked together on a project called Above and Below, as part of the annual Big Draw event.
Linda Bateman, head teacher, said: “Artists were encouraged to draw anything above or below the sea.
“The response was fantastic.
“Field Place has already had its art provision recognised through the Artsmark Gold award, so really values opportunities for the children to explore a range of artistic events.
“As it was also a parents’ consultation evening, we thought it was a great opportunity to get as many people as possible involved in the project.”
Students also collected goods for Worthing Churches Homeless Projects.
A representative from the charity came and talked to the children about what they needed and the school linked it with the work they were doing to become a Rights Respecting School.
