HOMEWORK robots, a bedroom tidying machine and something that sorts out tangled tights were among the entries in an invention competition.

As part of National Science Week, children at The Laurels First School, in Winterbourne Way, Durrington, took on the challenge of creating and designing something that would make their life easier.

Head teacher Amanda Dingwall said: “The children absolutely loved it.

“We had lots and lots of entries to the competition and it was good because it was a home-learning initiative, too.”
