STAFF and students at the Sir Robert Woodard Academy, in Upper Boundstone Lane, Lancing, have put a turbulent couple of years behind them by celebrating record GCSE results.
In that time there have been three different principals and the Academy has been placed in special measures by Ofsted.
Fifty-six per cent of the 206 pupils in Year 11 achieved five A*-C grades in this year’s GCSEs, which is an increase of 20 per cent in the last two years.
Principal, Peter Midwinter said: “We are thrilled by the students’ achievements. The qualifications they have achieved illustrate what is possible through effective teaching and quality learning experiences.”
