THE start of the summer term began with the grand opening of the new dining hall at one Worthing school.
The £300,000 project to provide West Park First and Middle with a 108-seater dining hall and facilities for teaching food technology was jointly funded by the Department for Education, the Local Authority and the school itself.
At the opening ceremony at the Marlborough Road school, head teacher, Peter Neale, said the school was very fortunate to have the new dining hall and was looking forward to using it fully in the future.
He said it was a flexible space which meant that it could be used in a range of different ways and the whole school would benefit from it for many years to come.
Worthing mayor Ann Sayers cut the ribbon to officially open the new hall, with children, staff and governors looking on.
