Wildlife creations by Durrington children

YOUNGSTERS in Durrington took inspiration from the environment and got creative.

Children at The Laurels First School were visited by artists who helped them make textiles and models, did drama workshops based on the environment, made a 6ft-long sculpture of a dragonfly and made clay faces in the style of artist David Gosling.

Head teacher Judith James said: "The children have learned many new skills and techniques.

"We really value our school environment and have worked hard on our wildlife and pond area."
