A MUCH-LOVED teacher had a speedy exit from school inside a fast car on her last day.

Jill Aldous, who has been deputy head teacher of Lyndhurst First school for the past 20 years, retired at the end of last term.

Before she left, Jill enjoyed a reception at the Lyndhurst Road school, which many former colleagues attended.

At the end of the school day, pupils and staff assembled on the playground to watch as a Lotus Elan drove Jill, who has a passion for fast cars, home.

Jill said: “I have enjoyed all my years here at Lyndhurst, the last few years have flown by and I am leaving with so many happy memories.”
