PUPILS at a Worthing primary school spent four “fun-filled” days learning about science.

The children at English Martyrs Catholic Primary School in Derwent Drive, Worthing, held their science week last week.

During that time, they had visits from an aircraft engineer, science teachers, a representative from the Body Shop labs, a doctor, a parent who works in cancer research, a radiographer and a vet.

Other activities during the week included pond dipping, bug hunting, gardening and experiments.

The science activities also allowed the older children a chance to share the knowledge they gained through working with the Sussex Wildlife Trust with the younger children.

Science co-ordinator Susie Fordham said: “This week has given the children such a variety of opportunities to extend their learning, and our thanks go out to all the people who have so generously helped it to be a huge scientific success.”
