FERRING residents’ jubilee celebrations raised more than £1,200 for an animal charity.

Staff and customers at the Tudor Close pub in Ferringham Lane, Ferring, held a jubilee party earlier this month, and collected £1,221.76 for WADARS.

After closing the road outside the pub, they set up a hog roast, Pimm’s stand, tables, chairs and bunting. A variety of local traders entered into the spirit of the event by setting up stalls and hundreds of people attended.

Landlady Alida Lover said: “We are delighted to support WADARS and the fantastic work they do in helping injured animals and pets that need rehoming.

“The response to this event by the local community has been brilliant and we were delighted that so many people turned out on the day despite the challenging weather conditions.”
