LANCING’S Christmas market was hailed as a success by councillors at the latest parish council meeting.
Despite a few minor problems to be ironed out for next year, councillors agreed the market had brought a much-needed boost to the village.
Councillors praised the community spirit and friendly atmosphere that surrounded the event.
Speaking at the amenities and environment committee meeting last Wednesday, Cllr Mary Hamblin said: “Pam did a fantastic job at very short notice, and we must recognise what a great job she has done.”
Mrs Gavan thanked those who helped make the day a success, especially Frances Smith of Lancing Regeneration.
She added that cash donations had been received from Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and estate agents Jacobs Steel.
“I won’t rest on my laurels,” she said. It will be better next year.”
